Timelines for Application
You should attend a preparation meeting for applicants in January of the year before you plan to begin professional school (e.g., January of Junior year if you plan to start professional school immediately after graduation, January of Senior year if you plan a gap year, etc.). The whole process takes more than a year and a half. By January you should be making plans to sit for your admissions exam, preparing for the exam, researching schools, working on your personal statement, and asking for letters of recommendation (LORs). All LORs must be received along with the appropriate recommendation form (see the letters section under Preparing) by April of the application year. Please see the appropriate contract/timeline for your field of medicine for details on this and other requirements. Committee letters/ pre-health advisor letters will be prepared for students who meet the deadlines set forth in your Applicant Agreement.
